Where are you all?
I had the classic mom experience the other day and I have to share it.
I was in the airport, after a lengthy day at work, headed home to two kids with fevers and a burned out husband. Fun, huh?

So - flight's delayed and I head to the overpriced newsstand to grab some smut reading. Not smut, in its true sense, just some cheesy tabloid celeb stuff that i normally detest, but I read in airports. It's my secret indulgence.
As I pondered InTouch vs. People, I noticed THREE other women, who looked just like me, around me. We all giggled and shared the same comments. We're tired, brain's been working all day, going home to shift gears between working woman into Motrin dispenser and teddy bear tucker.... we need to shut off for a moment.

Luckily enough, once the kiddos were asleep, I caught Lipstick Jungle for the first time. And man... I could relate to Wendy - the Brooke Shields character. Never mind that I love her personally since her PPD book. Her character is a slightly exaggerated version of how all working women feel at some point. Certainly, we don't feel that torn every day. But moms can relate much more than dads to that feeling of a boss on IM, while the babysitter's on the phone reporting of a fever or vomiting spell.
Been there, done that - and will do it again, probably until well into their 20s, right?

I also saw a preview on Discovery Health Channel of a show about three female OB/Gyns, who are all friends and all moms. I'd love to hear how they do it - and I'd love to see a REAL working mom. Primetime always paints the scenario in the extremes; either much worse or much better than the real thing.
I hope I can stay awake to watch it - I think it was Deliver Me and it looked good... kinda like Private Practice, without the makeup and heels! LOL (really, did you OB deliver your baby looking like Kate Walsh?? Hardly!)
